iWoz Book Cover An inspirational book and going to be one of my favorite books. An autobiography by Steve Wozniak, from when he was a child and became an inspirational engineer (of course billionaire) after he founded Apple Computer. As an engineer, I love Steve Wozniak more than Steve Jobs. He is a genius who always finds a simpler way to solve a problem, from simplifying an arcade game, standardizing a home computer with a monitor, designing a simple disk drive controller, innovating with universal remote control, etc.  A very recommended book, you can read some of the sample pages here . 

I got this beautiful old keyboard from my friend, it is an Apple mechanical keyboard from 1986. Why do I love this keyboard? because it’s mechanical, and I believe that a mechanical keyboard has a longer age than a membrane keyboard. The keycaps mostly use PBT plastic, but the plastic cover case and the space button are made with ABS plastic so they are yellowing over time. So I decided to restore the plastic using an H2O2 solution. 28 April 2023 I found a nice and complete collection of Macintosh Classic II. It included the Mac itself, keyboard, mouse, and an external 800k drive. Someone sold this thing on Instagram, and then I contacted the seller to ask about its condition. He said that it was first hand from his uncle and last January 2023 it was tested okay and running. But currently, he didn’t have the power cord to test it. So I decided to gamble to buy this old machine, I hope that the internal battery is not leaked or better it has already been removed. It was manufactured in October 1991, which was before I was born 🤣 After dealing with the price and shipping charges, it then shipped with cargo to Yogyakarta from Bandung. My concerns were the internal battery and the CRT. I hope the CRT is not broken by the shipping. Akhirnya saya jual juga Macbook Air 11 inch yang saya beli sekitar pertengahan 2016 lalu. Teman - teman mempertanyakan kenapa saya menjual laptop yang dibanggakan banyak orang tersebut. Jawabanya adalah saya kecewa. Saya kecewa dengan berbagai keterbatasan yang ada didalamnya, kecuali baterainya yang tahan lama. Sebenarnya saya sudah lama ingin berganti ke laptop lain, namun belum menemukan laptop yang seukuran ini yang mampu bertahan selama 9 jam. Kekecewaan saya selanjutnya karena minimnya konektor yang disediakan oleh Macbook Air ini. Ya memang karena dikuranginya banyak konektor, membuat laptop ini menjadi tipis dan terkesan modern. Tapi untuk apa? Saya lebih membutuhkan fiturnya daripada sekedar ramping. Masih ada satu kekurangan yang ada di laptop ini, yaitu komponenya nggak upgradeable, terutama untuk RAM yang terbatas di 4GB, yang membuat sangat menderita ketika compiling aplikasi android. Saat saat yang sudah lama saya tunggu-tunggu untuk mempunyai sebuah iDevice. Dahulu kala tertarik dengan iPhone, mulai dengan kemunculan iPhone 3 sampai sekarang ada iPhone 6 (2015). Namun setelah dipikir kembali, untuk kehandalan dan untuk "main2" khusus untuk handphone memang paling enak sih pakai Android. Android saya percayakan kepada Moto G saya.  Kembali ke iDevice... iDevice pertama kali yang saya miliki adalah iPad Mini 2 yang sudah dibekali dengan Retina display yang mempunyai resolusi tinggi. Selain itu sudah dibekali processor A7 dan Ram sebesar 1 GB. Recommended sekali!  Pertimbangan sebelumnya adalah iPad Mini 1, iPad Mini 2 dan iPad 4. Tentunya memang bukan saingan yang pas bagi iPad mini 1. Cuma harganya memang sudah murah sekali, yang menjadi bahan pertimbangan. Setelah saya bandingkan di Emax Amplas Jogja memang iPad mini 1 agak sedikit kurang smooth, dan memang kualitas layarnya kalah jauh dengan iPad Mini 2 yang sudah Retina Display.
